LEAD TUTOR - MATHS KEY STAGE 2 TO GCSE

Di - is the founder and owner of Discovery Tutors. She is a fully qualified teacher with a B.Ed (Hons) from the University of Reading. She started her teaching career in 1992 and has since taught in schools in Norfolk and Suffolk, including Key Stage leadership. She has experience in both primary and secondary schools. Di tutors maths from Key Stage 2 up to GCSE level

MATHS - KEY STAGE 2 TO GCSE

Elaine specialises in maths tuition. After many years of working as a teaching assistant, subsequently qualifying as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, she decided to embark on her studies to become a qualified teacher. She gained her education degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) through the Open University. She offers maths tuition from Key Stage 2 up to GCSE level.

KEY STAGE 2 & SEN SPECIALIST

Holly is a fully qualified teacher having gained a BA in primary education with QTS. She currently works at a local high school, focussing on students with SEN. She is currently studying for an MA Education: Learning, pedagogy and assessment, with the University of East Anglia. Holly has special interest in SEN and plans to complete her dissertation focussing on students with Special Educational Needs. Holly offers Key Stage 2 maths tuition and SEN English.

MATHS – KEY STAGE 3 & GCSE

Geir has a background in dentistry and Geir holds a PhD. More recently he has trained to teach under the Graduate Teaching Programme and works at a local high school. He joined Discovery Tutors in September 2021 as an online maths tutor specialising in Key Stage 3 and GCSE tuition.

FRENCH & GERMAN KEY STAGE 2, KEY STAGE 3, GCSE, A-LEVEL

Susi holds a BA in French & German, a PGCE in Modern Languages and an MA in German Literature & Culture. She has had a long career in teaching modern foreign languages (MFL) and her roles have included Director of Learning for MFL and Head of Sixth Form, as well as visiting lecturer roles. Susi joined us in 2022 and tutors French and German up to A level. She also leads our French Conversation Classes for adults.

MATHS & PHYSICS - KEY STAGE 3 & GCSE

Having studied Maths, Computer Science and Physics at A level, Macy joined Discovery Tutors in the Autumn Term of 2021 as a student tutor. She has since graduated from her degree in Astrophysics. She joined Discovery Tutors in the Autumn Term of 2021, and has had considerable success tutoring students in both maths and physics to Key Stage 3 and GCSE students. Although, not a qualified teacher, she has gained a great deal of tutoring expertise and this combined with her subject knowledge, means that we can confidently offer her services on a par with our other tutors.

ENGLISH – GCSE & A Level

Richard holds a BA(Hons) in English Language and Literature, as well as a PGCE. He has a wealth of experience in teaching English gained over a 35 year teaching career, during which he has been Head of English, Head of Drama, Director of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher at a local high school. He is able to offer face-to-face or online tuition. In addition to English tuition, Richard is also able to help with writing personal statements for university applications.

Beth is a fully qualified teacher having gained a BA in Primary Education with QTS. She currently works in a local primary school where she currently teaches in Key Stage 1. She has an extensive knowledge of current teaching methods and is highly skilled in teaching phonics, reading and maths at primary school level.

Steph is a highly experienced maths teacher and works with students from Key Stages 3 and 4. She is highly competent and approachable and can work with students studying for the Foundation and Higher papers in maths.

Jude joined us in the Summer Term of 2024. A qualified and experienced teacher, who has worked in local High Schools and Tertiary Colleges. She is highly experienced working with Key Stages 3 & 4 students – especially those preparing for their GCSE exams.
